HONDA RC211V LCR Team Moto GP 2006
Step by step

Step by Step: Honda RC211V LCR Team Moto GP 2006

After spending several years without assembling a motorbike at 1/12 scale, I decided to put my hands on the aseembly of this pretty looking and spectacular model from Tamiya.

I thought in the idea of adding some photoetched detail set. After looking to the ones available on the modeling shops, I added Crazy Modeler's one, reference 1/12 Honda RC-211V '06. I also added the chain tensor from Tuner Model Manufactory, and the stand set from Top Studio, apart of tiny pieces as rivets, bolts, caliper fittings, etc.

ASSEMBLY

I began modifying the chasis. I cut the clutch pedal supports and the rear break, before glueing photoetched ones, much closer to scale.

Once the two parts of the exhaust was glued, I sanded the plastic support till the surface got smooth

Rear caliper support, part D60, is too thick. I cut it and got detailed like this...

One of the most detailed and chick parts is the new cluth. It is assembled with ten photoetch parts; you add a smaller disc between two big ones and the final clutch will have more volume...Spectacular result!

I will glue later the usable kit part.

Steering ring, part 90 from Crazy Modeler photoetch set, gives a very real appearance....and if you drill every hole the result is superb.

I improved the radiator grill with photoetch parts from Crazy Modeler set, which fit perfectly.
