Yamaha YZR M-1 G.P. 2005 Tamiya 1/12

Yamaha YZR M-1 G.P. 2005. Tamiya model scale 1/12.

At the beggining of the year 2010 I decided to assemble two of the three possible decorations for the motorbike with wich Valentino Rossi ran in the Moto GP 2005 season, the Yamaha YZR M-1. This year Valentino won the Pilot Championship and his team, Yamaha, won the Team Championship. The models are of the well known brand Tamiya , references 14104 and 14105, and at scale 1/12.

In order to detail the "Inter-coloring" Edition, (yellow one), I used the Top Studio's super detailing set, reference MD29001, composed by about 25 resin pieces (excepting the cable connectors), one photo-etched plate and several pieces of soft metal, along with several extra detailing parts. And for the Yamaha's 50º Anniversary model, I used several common pieces (the most visible ones) such as the chain, rivets, a Tamiya's fork, etc.

I used several detailing parts of Tuner Model Manufactory, Hobby Design and Top Studio; rivets Tuner Model Manufactory referencces T2M-1036, 1039, 1005, 1006, 1007; rivets Top Studio TD23017 and TD23023. Also Hobby Desing rivets references HD07-0038 (1.2 mm body), Top Studio's tyre air valves reference TD23025, Tuner Model Manufactory's cable tensioners reference T2M-1052 and rhombic knurling electronic connectors reference T2M-3009. I also used the Tamiya 1/12 Yamaha YZR-M1 2005 front fork set, Top Studio chain set reference TD23014 (gold), Yamaha YZR M1 Racing Stand Set ref. TD23028, etc.

As visual aids and reference to detail the bike at this level, I used Moto GP season 2005 monograph (Moto GP Racer's Archive 2005). To finish, I placed the bikes on top of a 1,6 mm fiber carbon plate, wich gives them this particular competition finish, and a plate with the pilots' names and the Yamaha emblem. I want to finish saying that I enjoyed assebling them during the six months I spent in the process.
